Wait for Love – Jahim & Faye October 9, 2009
Jahim and Faye had a beautiful wedding ceremony & reception. I was honored that they asked me to write a poem for their wedding.
Waiting for Love
On bended knee
he
steadfastly prayed
and on similar days
her eyes stayed fixed
on the Word
placing her Faith
in the part
where He promises
the desires of their hearts
to those who
delight
in Him
So
when
on a seemingly arbitrary day
two paths
found their way
to cross
two unsuspecting hearts
were connected
It was unexpected
but
only in the flesh
because when divine timing
stepped in
their souls instantly just
recognized
their mates
And then
all there was to do
was wait
Life’s lessons
had already birthed blessings
in ways
that weren’t always
easy to see
but
stumbles and falls
then
forgiveness of all
allowed them to be exactly
where He
had called them
to be
In perfect place
where they laid eyes
upon the face
where love
would grow
Seeds of friendship sown
were nourished with
loyalty and trust
communication was a must
in the strength of the
foundation
Patience put into
the preparation
of this union
would not be
in vain
for it was ordained
for a time
such as this
that this man
and this woman
and this family
become
One
in
God’s sight
in Right Covenant
precisely
Now
Divinely aligned
and right on time
the joining of
these soul-mates
and this love
was
definitely
worth
the
wait.
